If you have pain in your heel and arch when you first get up in the morning or after sitting for a time, this can be caused by inflammation of the plantar fascia. Plantar fasciitis is the most common ailment we see in our patients and it can be treated with ice therapy, anti-inflammatory medication, stretching exercises, and orthopedics.
If standard treatments are insufficient, we offer cortisone injections and physical therapy services. Only on rare occasions is surgery indicated for this condition. Oftentimes, the condition is an acute flare-up and can be treated quickly. In some cases, we may recommend changes in lifestyle or footwear to prevent future flare-ups.
